by Leah Guthrie

April 17, 2009

Coming back to school after Spring Break meant that the Bunny Bake-off would soon follow. PHHS Foods and Intro to FACS classes competed in the fourth annual "Bunny Bake-off". Students have two 40 minute classes to bake and decorate a bunny-theme cake for the contest. Students pay .25 cents to cast their vote for the winning bunny. Members of winning team receive a pizza compliments of the FACS Club.

This year, since the classes are large, there was more cake than usual so the Foods students invited the kindergartners up to the high school to view the cakes and enjoy eating them. Some of the jr. high students also participated in the "taste-testing" portion of the competition.

The teacher's choice award went to Foods III students for "Blue Bunny". Foods I students received 1st in the student's choice (Stephanie Moesch and Kara Law); Foods I students Lindsey Rouse and Bethanie Pulliam got second with their devilish twist on the cake for "Lucy Fur". Third place went to Devin Campbell and Cody Clendenny.

Money raised will pay for the prizes awarded to the winning participants. A special thank you to the teachers and staff for voting and for administration letting the classes partake in such a fun school-wide activity.
