Volley For The Cure Game Oct. 7

This game is in memory of Mrs. Dolbeare our beloved fifth-grade teacher

September 04, 2008

The PHHS Lady Wolves volleyball team will be playing a special game Tuesday, Oct. 7th. The team will be hosting a "Volley For The Cure" game against Meredosia. All players and coaches will be wearing pink in reference to the fight against breast cancer.

All fans are also encouraged to wear pink to the game and "Paint the gym pink" in honor of our former 5th grade teacher Mrs. Karen Dolbeare who passed away from battling cancer. The volleyball team is selling pink shirts in her honor and $5 from each shirt sold will be donated in her name. The team is currently taking orders but some shirts will be available at games to purchase ahead of time.

Also all proceeds from the game will also be donated in Mrs. Dolbeare's honor. Mrs. Dolbeare's grade school colleagues are working on a large raffle that will take place in conjunction with the Volley For a Cure game. If anyone would like to donate to the raffle, please contact Ellen Kinscherff at the grade school.

Everyone at Unit #3 misses Mrs. Dolbeare and we all want to do something worthwhile to show how much she has meant to the district, as well as, her family and friends over the years. Please come out an support this worthy cause and be a part of something special at PHHS and unit #3.

Anyone interested in pre-ordering a shirt needs to contact Leah Guthrie at guthrie_phhs@yahoo.com or call her at the high school at (217) 734-2311. It is recommended that you pre-order your shirt to ensure that your size is available.

Together we can make a difference. Game time is 6:30 p.m.
