Who or what inspired you to become a teacher?
Mrs. Winifred Motley. She taught 4th,5th, and 6th grades, all in one classroom,at El Dara Grade School.
What was your most memorable moment while teaching? “ I have a lot of them. NO two days are alike!!”
What is your most embarrassing time while teaching? One day it got so hot in the classroom that I opened the window. It was near the end of the day, so I didn’t put a screen in the window. A robin flew into the classroom and I had to call Virgina Smith to help me catch the bird.
What is your most exciting thing about teaching? Watching the first graders learn to read is always exciting!!
How do you feel about the Accerlated Reader program? The Accelerated Reader program helps first graders become more fluent readers. It is a very successful program in first grade!!
