The Wolves Have a Rough Start

Turkey Tournament takes toll on Wolves

The Wolves basketball team was recently in the 2nd Annual Pittsfield Turkey Tournament where they ended the tournament with a 0-4 record. The first game in the tournament was against host team, Pittsfield Saukees where the Wolves were defeated. 

The second game, the Wolves took on Hannibal and fell to the Pirates 68-47 in a much harder fought game that what the score revealed. High scorer for the Wolves was Noah Gregurich with 14 followed by Dylan McKinnon with 11. Scoring in the single digits were teammates: Brian Black, 4; Evan Borrowman, 6; Jacob Garrison, 2; Avery Gregurich 1, Matt Gunterman, 3 and Jake Yanczer, 6.

The third game the Wolves played the Liberty Eagles and lost 70-47. Leading scorer for the Wolves was Dylan McKinnon with 14 and Matt Gunterman with 12.Rounding out the Wolves scoring was Jake Yanczer, 9; Noah Gregurich, 8 and Brian Black, Jacob Garrison, Avery Gregurich and John Webster all scored one point.

Wrapping up the tournament, the Wolves went head to head with Springfield Lutheran falling 60-44 in what proved to be an exciting game. Two Wolves were on fire this game scoring well over half the points for the Wolves team. Noah Gregurich again topped the scoring drive with 18 accompanied by Dylan McKinnon, 17. Evan Borrowman and Matt Gunterman both chipped in 4 points and Jacob Garrison added 1 point to the Wolves scoring.
