Jr. High Quiz Bowl
Jr. High Quiz Bowl started in January this year. The team has greatly grown from last year’s small team of 8. There are 12 kids on the team this year. They are:
6th Grade:

7th Grade:

8th Grade:

The team is coached by Ms. Carrie Wilson. Practices are held every Tuesday and Thursday after school from about 3:15 to 4:00. Practices are always serious, but we still find ways to have fun. During a normal practice, the team is spilt to have matches. The ‘moderator’ asks the questions and whoever knows the answer can buzz in with their buzzer to answer within the amount of time given for each question. There are toss-up questions, which anyone on either team can answer, and bonus questions, which the team that correctly answered the toss-up question has the chance to answer. In bonus questions there are normally 4 to 5 parts. After the first team answers, the other team gets a chance to answer the questions that the other team did not correctly answer. The types of questions range from math, science, English, and vocabulary, to sports, home economics, and more. While this may seem easy, it’s not. Since starting in January, the team has worked hard and is excited to play our first match against Mendon on March 9th.
