Lady Wolves beat Unity 14-4

Record climbs to 4-1

April 08, 2009

Lady luck is smiling down on the Pleasant Hill Lady Wolves! The Lady Wolves traveled to Mendon/Unity to take on the Lady Mustangs. True to fashion, it was a thriller to watch. The Lady Wolves got an early lead, up 3 to nothing in the 3rd inning. Tough defense held the Mustangs scoreless until the 6th inning where several base hits by the Mendon/Unity team scored 4 runs.

Coach Skillman gathered his ladies and got their rally caps on. The girls tied the game in the 7th inning and held the Mustangs to a tie, sending the game into extra innings. The Lady Wolves proved they were there to play and heated up their bats in the top of the 8th inning. With Paige Allen, Allie Clowers, Kara Law, and Shelby Johns all hitting doubles, and Stephanie Moesch adding a double and a triple to the mix of single hits, the Lady Wolves scored 10 runs in the 8th inning. The Lady Wolves strong defense again held the Mustangs scoreless in the 8th adding another “W” in the Lady Wolves scorebook winning 14-4.

Strong leadership from the senior players, versatility from the underclassmen, savvy pitcher Lauren Dameron, and a supportive coaching staff give this team a great combination. If you have not seen the Lady Wolves play this year you are in for a treat. Come out and watch a home game. The next home game will be a tough game for the Lady Wolves with a strong QND Lady Raiders team coming to town on Monday, April 13th.
