Friday April 17th the 8th graders went to Pittsfield school for the “Drugs End All Dreams” assembly. This assembly talked about drugs and alcohol and how it can harm you and can hurt the ones around you. The speakers talked about how drinking and driving and riding with someone who has been drinking is a risk to your life and others around you. We were separated into different groups by which color of shirt you were given. There were several different stations and we were able to see different speakers. We received shirts and many other items teaching us about drugs. After each station, which was about 20 minutes each, we would move to the next station. After all of the stations were done, we ate lunch. Finally, we went back to the gym and had a group assembly. There was only one speaker who talked overall about how drugs and alcohol can affect your life.
