Elementary Students Bring Lots of Food for FFA Drive

November 30, 2009

The Pleasant Hill Elementary school students stepped up to the plate for the PHHS FFA Chapter's challenge to bring in food for the Pleasant Hill Food Pantry.  For the second year in a row, the FFA has asked the elementary classes to compete against each other to be the class that brings in the most non-perishable items for the food pantry.

This year, the group collected about 450 pounds of food, with Carrie Wilson's sixth grade class bringing in the most.  Wilson's class will win a pizza party from the FFA chapter sometime before Christmas.  After collecting the food on Monday, November 23, the FFA delivered the food to the basement of the Pleasant Hill Christian Church where the food pantry is located.  With such a great response to the Thanksgiving drive, the FFA will offer another pizza party for the class that wins between Thanksgiving break and Christmas break!

A big thank-you goes out from the FFA to all the elementary students who brought in so much food!
