2010-2011 Opening Information

Pleasant Hill Schools will open for the 2010-11 school year on Monday, August 23.  School will be in session from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

The buses will run their regular morning routes Monday.  Students will be dismissed at 10:00 a.m.  There will be no meals served Monday.  Breakfast and lunch service will begin on Tuesday, August 24.  Dismissal times for the first two weeks of school will be 2:15.

Students should not arrive at school before 7:45 unless they are participating in the breakfast program.  Breakfast is normally served from 7:30  to 8:00.  The first bell rings at 8:10 a.m.  Breakfast is served only at the elementary school.

Elementary students may register from 9:00 to 3:00 in the elementary office from Monday, August 2 until the opening of school.  

Necessary medical forms are due in the nurse's office by Friday, August 27.  You should have received a letter in the spring regarding the necessary physical examinations and immunizations.

Free/reduced meal applications were mailed to all students.  You may also pick one up in the school office.  These should be returned as soon as possible.  Applications not properly filled out will not be processed.  The state is very strict regarding eligibility and audits these applications yearly.

Elementary book fees are unchanged this year - $30.00.  There are no book fees for PK students.  Breakfast will be $1.00 and lunch will be $1.75.

There will be a second PreK screening Friday, August 13 at the Elementary School from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.  For an appointment for a screening, please call the school at 734-2311.

Boys in grades 5, 6, 7, and 8 may participate in junior high football.  The JH football camp is August 6th and August 7th from 5:30-8:30 p.m.  For any further information please call Gary Gunterman at 217-491-1287.

Girls in grades 5, 6, 7, and 8 may participate in junior high basketball. There will be a meeting with Mr. Shireman on the first full day of school, August 24 during the noon hour.
