The "Chocolate" on the walls of the JWCC theater.

WYSE

On Wednesday, February 12 a group of 14 students along with Mr. Lowe and Miss Yotter attended the WYSE Academic Challenge at John Wood Community College in Quincy. The students started the day with taking two tests each then going to lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings while the tests were scored. After lunch everyone was gathered in the theater at JWCC for the awards ceremony. Despite their great efforts, the Pleasant Hill group didn't manage to place in any of the categories but everyone still had a great day. Lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings was probably the highlight of the groups day as they sat around together enjoying great food, watching figure skating at the Olympics on the TVs, and having pretty interesting conversations. By the end of the day, all the students could say they had a fun time. Students that went included: Freshman: Keely Collard, Lauren Hill, Carissa Moore, Becky Giles, and Derek Dolbere Sophomores: Rachael Cloweres, Trystin Smith, Corby Edwards, Seth Moyers, and Justin Perez Juniors: Ashley Holcomb Seniors: Shelby Butricks, Kennedy Moore, and Taylor Knight. This was the first year in quite some time that underclassman were taken to the competition and everyone is trying their best to wait patiently for their scores to be posted online.
