Many Thanks to our Teachers

March 24, 2020

School districts around the country have been caught off guard with the events of the past week where many have gone from having no e-learning plan to an implemented e-learning plan in three days or less. The administration at Pleasant Hill CUSD #3 is extremely proud of the response our teachers have provided in the midst of this stressful time, and we are happy to say that it is not only we, the administration, that is noticing; it is the parents that are noticing too. Here is a letter from one such parent who is also our School Board President.

To our School Staff,

I would like to take a moment and thank our teachers, support staff and administrators for the job they have done in these unprecedented times.  Education is never an easy job and usually a thankless job but the Pleasant Hill staff always seems to rise to the occasion.  Just over a week ago our school, along with others in the state,  was asked to drop everything, mobilize an online learning curriculum, come up with a way to try and keep our children fed lunch and breakfast  and secure our  buildings and grounds.  They were asked to do this in the time frame of not a year, not a few months, not a few weeks, not even a week but in a matter of hours really.  They did this in a manner which should make this community very proud of our district and it’s incredible staff.  As we continue down this road where none of us really know what next week holds for us I’m comforted in the thought that our school and it’s staff will do everything it can to be there for our families and students and remain what we all need, a constant in our community at this time.

Thanks to all of you from a Board member but mostly a parent,

Mike Peebles
