Lady Wolves net a couple wins in Dosh Tourney

The Pleasant Hill JV and Varsity teams competed last week in the Meredosia Tourney. This is the first year for the Lady Wolves to compete in the tournament. We played Griggsville-Perrry (lost), Franklin-Waverly (lost), West Central (lost), Triopia (won) and Meredosia (won). We exited the tournament with a 2-3 record and one player, Macey Black, making the all tournament team.

"The first three games were frustrating for us as we just couldn't seem to get clicking on all six cylinders," said assistant coach Leah Guthrie. "The girls played hard those first three games, but just not well as a team. We were determined we would not leave that tournament without a couple wins under our belt, so the team just decided it was time to make it happen and we picked up our first two wins of the varsity season during the last two games on Sautrday."

The junior varsity also had a taste of winning as they won two matches, one against Triopia and the other against Meredosia. "We are proud of the girls for deciding it was time to pull it together and net us some wins," said head coach Jennifer Black. "We have the talent, we just couldn't get it all working at the same time. I think we will have a lot of close matches this year, we just have to make up our minds that we are going to win the game and not just be in the game."
