Lady Wolves win softball season opener!

What a difference a year makes! The Lady Wolves softball team had a great season opener against the Lady Hawks from Carrollton. Our Lady Wolves defeated Carrollton 2-1 in a very exciting game full of defense! (View full story to read and click on right corner of photo to view slideshow of photos from the game.)
Under the helm of new coaches Blake Skillman and Kylee Klaas, the Lady Wolves took the field with a new found confidence. Junior pitcher, Lauren Dameron had a great game allowing only one run. Senior infielders Alexis Damon and Jessie Johnson both caught line drives while senior teammate Stephanie Moesch had a great game out in centerfield catching several pop ups. Other seniors stepping up to the plate this season are outfielders Dana Johnston who did a great job of backing up Damon on first and Lindsey Rouse and Kate Johns who shared the leftfield position.
A young and agile infield of sophomores Kara Law and Brittni Clendenny, teamed up with shortstop Payton McKinnon had several nice ground ball players and did a nice job of keeping runs down. Another great addition to the outfield this year is sophomore Shelby (Obie) Johns who caught to pop-ups.
