Lady Wolves score another win on the diamond!

Lady Wolves are 3-1

by Leah Guthrie

April 07, 2009

The Lady Wolves softball team hosted the Lady Wildcats from Western on Tuesday night. Hoping to land another win in this seasons scorebook, the Lady Wolves drew first blood on a two RBIs from senior Stephanie Moesch.

With Western looking to rally back, junior pitcher Lauren Dameron left three ducks on the pond with a big srike-out for the Lady Wolves. Dameron also earned her 30th season strikeout in this game.

Junior Kara Law had the third RBI for the Lady Wolves. Sophomore Shelby Johns played a great game behind the plate for an ill Paige Allen. Johns has been playing rightfield most of the season, but did a great job catching for the Lady Wolves. Another sophomore having a good game in the infield was Brittni Clendenny whose second base position seemed to be the hot spot for the Western hitters.

Senior Alexis Damon did a great job on first making a couple of great stretch plays. Lindsey Rouse also had a good night on the bases. The right side of the field saw most of the action in tonight's game due to the outstanding pitching of Dameron.

The Lady Wolves next game is at Quincy High School on Thursday where they will take on the QHS junior varsity team. (See the schedule in the "softball section" of this website.)
