Borrowman ranked Number 1 on KHQA polls

14 touchdowns and he's IHSA's number one, too!

PHHS wide receiver, Evan Borrowman, a senior is currently ranked number 1 on KHQA's website.

Sports anchor Chris Durer is quoted as saying the following on KHQA's website, "To put this kid's unbelievable career into perspective, Evan Borrowman rates as the 15th most prolific end zone visitor in IHSA history...without having yet taken a single snap in his senior season. He has amassed 30 career touchdowns as an underclassman. If he catches 14 more this year, Borrowman will go down as the IHSA's All Time Career record holder in touchdown receptions. And considering that Evan had 11 last year in just nine games, it is a very real possibility, especially if P.Hill can end its 11 year playoff drought. The kid may look physically non-descript, but he is the very definition of a game breaker. Too fast and too athletic for the typical Class 1A defensive back to keep contained. He has an unbelievable knack for getting behind a secondary, but he is just as likely to take a quick slant and go 70 yards with it. WIVC teams have spent the last two years selling out against Borrowman and yet he still has 74 total receptions over that stint to show for it. He's got tremendous hands and will make spectacular catches on the 50/50 ball. Bottom line, you have to limit him to short, underneath, stop gap routes and deny him any chance to get turned up field. Force him to nickle and dime you to death. Brown County, for example, has employed the one really effective gambit against the kid over the years as Eric Grady has used a "firebreak" scheme to keep Borrowman under wraps: deny him oxygen and try to frustrate him by not allowing him room to burn. Beyond that, the kid really has proven unstoppable and his numbers dictate that he will go down as one of the all time great high school receivers in Tri State annals."

Borrowman is the son of Kevin and Shari Borrowman of Atlas. He has been a four year starter for the Wolves football team under the helm of head coach, Mike Giles. The Wolves first game of the season is against Brown County on Aug. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Mt. Sterling.
