The 5Essentials Survey is designed to drive improvement in schools by identifying areas of strength within the district and those areas in need of support. With information collected on the survey, Pleasant Hill CUSD #3 school leadership will be better positioned to drive improvement efforts.
Regarding the content of the survey, UChicago Impact reports the following: "Over twenty years of research conducted by the University of Chicago Consortium on School Research in Chicago Public Schools found that schools strong on at least three of the five essentials were ten times more likely to show improvements in learning gains in reading and math than schools weak in three of the five essentials. The parent survey supplement is comprised of approximately 26 questions and will appear in its own section within the 5Essentials Report. The responses from the parent survey do not affect a school’s performance on the 5Essentials and are meant to complement the teacher and student data."
To receive parent data, a school must achieve a response rate of 20 percent from parents which equates to about 65 parents for Pleasant Hill CUSD #3. Please see additional information on the survey below:
- The parent survey is comprised of 26 questions and takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.
- Only one parent per household can complete the survey, and it can be completed multiple times if you have more than one child in the district (i.e. one child at the elementary and one at the high school).
- The parent has the option to leave their e-mail address if they would like confirmation of survey completion but leaving an e-mail address is not required.
- Parents may skip any questions they do not wish to answer.
- While partial responses are counted towards a school's response rate, please click submit at the end of the survey.
The faculty and staff at the elementary and high school appreciate parent support in this endeavor to improve learning experiences for our community's children.
