PHHS Volleyball Senior Night 2017

October 12, 2017

This week marks the last time four Lady Wolves will defend their volleyball den.

Seniors Hanna Allen, Deme Batchelor, Emily Hall, and Allyson Minor played in their final home volleyball game Tuesday, Oct. 10, against the West Central Lady Cougars.

Although the outcome was not in the Lady Wolves’ favor, several of the girls feel it was a celebration of four years of hard work.

“The seniors have quite a bit of talent and aid in the team’s success,” said junior player Kaylee Smith.

The four ladies and their parents were recognized and given a yellow rose just before the varsity game. Even though the girls are ready to open the next chapters of their lives, it is still a time for reflection.

“It was very bittersweet because four years was long enough to enjoy my time, but I’m a little upset that I won’t get to play again on my home court,” Batchelor said.

Allen, Batchelor, and Minor played all four years of high school.

“It’s been an accomplishment to get through all four years. It hasn’t always been easy,” Minor said. “It’s been fun to be a teammate to the upperclassmen then finally become one that younger players can look up to.”

Hall has been involved for four years, two as a statistician and two as a player. She experienced an arm injury early on in high school.

“I wish I was able to play all four years, however I’m still glad I’ve been able to be a part of the team all four years,” Hall said.

The girls have been inspired and motivated by Head Coach Terri Clowers.

“She has always pushed us, because she wants to see us succeed,” Allen said. “No matter the circumstances, she has never given up on us.”
