Pleasant Hill CUSD #3 Response to Extension of Stay at Home Order

March 31, 2020 Dear Pleasant Hill Parents, Employees and Community Members: I hope this message finds you and your families safe and well. Today, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker announced that remote learning in Illinois will be extended through April 30 in order to slow down the spread of COVID-19. During this time, on-site learning will remain suspended, but our schools’ commitment to learning and education will remain open and learning will continue for all students - just through a different format. . . .

Pleasant Hill Elementary Learning Plans for the Break

CHECK BACK FOR WEEKLY UPDATES! Teacher Lesson Plans will be updated every Tuesday at 9 am. Paper copies for people without Internet will be available at the school during lunch pick up on Tuesdays between 9-11 am. Many elementary school teachers are using a choice board for their mode of e-learning. Students will use the SAME choice board each day for one week. Students/parents should track progress as directed on the choice board and return to their teacher when school resumes or as otherwise directed. No Printer? . . .

PHHS Learning Plans for March

Every Day:   Students should read for AT LEAST  20 MINUTES EVERY DAY. Students can choose to read a novel, magazine, newspaper, or other type of literature. Independent reading is not for a grade but is incredibly important to student learning. Khan Academy  is a free learning platform that includes SAT Prep. Research shows that 20 hours of SAT practice on Khan Academy leads to a 115-point increase on the SAT! So, one hour of practice a day just over the 2-week break could lead to the 115-point increase. . . .

Meal Pick Up

Families can pick up meals at the high school bus circle between 9 and 11 AM on the following dates: Wednesday, March 18 Tuesday, March 24 Tuesday, March 31 It will be a drive through service that anyone can use, even those who have not signed up. The box on the 18th will contain food for the 18th-20th and 21st. The box on the 24th will include food for the 24th-27th and 30th. The box on the 31st will include food for the 1st-7th. At this time, school is scheduled to resume on Wednesday, April 8th.

TeacherEase Mobile App Enhancements

TeacherEase has recently been working on mobile apps.  In their latest release, they upgraded the iOS TeacherEase parent/student app to receive notifications when events occur in the system (grade is entered, student is marked absent, announcement is sent, etc).  Users stay updated without needing to login.     They implemented mobile notifications by leveraging the Feed already within TeacherEase.  Whenever a feed item is generated, it can be pushed out as mobile app notification . . .

Pleasant Hill CUSD #3 has been approved to participate as a sponsor in the School Nutrition Program district wide for Program Year 2020.  This means FREE breakfast and lunch for ALL students in our district for 2019-20 school year.  No free lunch applications will need to be completed and submitted for this school year.  If families do have remaining balances from last year, we would appreciate those funds being remitted as soon as possible.  You should have received a free book/course fee application in your packets . . .

We are pleased to announce we now offer online webpay.   You will see in the fifth button position at the top in white, “online webpay” on our webpage.  Once you press this button, it will redirect you to our Vanco Services secure website to process your payments and/or donations.  Once you complete the 1 st page it will direct you to the 2 nd page for payment information.  You can make payments from any credit/debit card and/or checking/savings account.  This software also allows you to . . .
