Additional Enrollment Opportunities for H.S. Students

There are additional opportunities for juniors and seniors to register for classes at PHHS and Quincy Area Vocational Technical Center. First, we will be offering an Introduction to Travel and Tourism course for upperclassmen at the high school. If you wish to enroll in this class, please write it on your registration sheet or see Mrs. Arnold to change your registration if you have already turned it in. Jr. High Track headed to State Track Meet

Pleasant Hill will be well-represented at this year's state track meet. The junior high track team attended sectionals today at Piasa-Southwestern (hosted by Greenfield) where three members of the junior high track team qualified to attend the state meet in Peoria on May 13-14. Kaitlyn Borrowman will compete in the 7th grade girls hurdle race, Bingham Lowe will compete in the 7th grade boys 1600 meter run, and Lylah Higgins will compete in the 7th grade  girls high jump.

We are excited to reinstate in-person events for the end of the 2021-2022 school year! Here are a list of events with their updated dates and times: Tuesday, May 17, 2022 - 6:00 PM, Large Gym Jr. High Athletic and Activities Banquet *Includes JFL, Jr. High Softball, Jr. High Girls and Boys Basketball, Jr. High Volleyball, and Jr. High Track *Does not include 5th and 6th Grade Girls and Boys Basketball Potluck Style School will cook ham and provide tea, lemonade, and water . . .

4th Grade visits Two Rivers National Wildlife Refuge

Mrs. Bower, Mrs. Rylander, and the 4th grade travelled   to Brussels to visit Two Rivers National Wildlife Refuge. This field trip is an annual trip sponsored by Every Kid Outdoors program. This program is sponsored by numerous agencies and aims to remove barriers to park visits for fourth graders and their families. To learn more about the program, visit  https://everykidoutdoors.gov .  Highlights of the day included Ranger Bob taking the students on a hike and leading students in the Migration Game.

Jr. High Track Sectional Info

The Sectional Meet is scheduled for Friday, May 6th, with a 2:00 p.m. start time, at Piasa Southwestern High School. There will be a coaches meeting at 1:15 p.m. SHARP at the press box. The rain date for this meet is Monday, May 9, or Tuesday, May 10. EACH SCHOOL is going to be required to supply at least 2 workers that will work a field event ALL DAY at the meet. BOTH WORKERS WILL BE ASSIGNED TO A FIELD EVENT AND WILL STAY THERE FOR THE ENTIRE MEET. If your workers plan to leave, they will need a replacement to cover them. These . . .

National Honor Society announces 2021-22 Inductees

The Pleasant Hill High School National Honor Society announced eleven students will be inducted into their chapter this school year.  Eligible students are invited to apply no earlier than the spring of their sophomore year. Admission is based upon the students' character, service, and leadership in a variety of settings. The date for the National Honor Society induction ceremony will be announced at a later time.
