One Click College Admit, the State's New Direct Admissions Program

February 27, 2026

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Your student’s future after high school is an important milestone, whether they enroll in college, enter the workforce, pursue a skilled trade, or join the military. For families whose students may be considering college, the application process can feel overwhelming. One Click College Admit, Illinois’ direct admission program, makes the process easier than ever. One click, and you’re in!

With One Click College Admit, state universities and community colleges in Illinois admit

students before they apply. Without application fees, essays, or letters of recommendation, students are admitted based on one criterion: their high school grade point average (GPA).

Complete the One Click College Admit opt-in form to allow your student to participate in the program and receive direct admission offers from Illinois’ public universities and community colleges. Submitting an opt-in form allows your student’s school to share their GPA with the

Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) to determine which universities and community colleges your student is eligible for using direct admission through One Click College Admit.

You will be asked to submit basic information, such as your name and address, in the opt-in form. The opt-in form must be submitted during your student’s junior year of high school to be eligible to receive direct admission offers at the beginning of their senior year.

Illinois has partnered with the Common App to facilitate the college application process through One Click College Admit. If your student’s opt-in form has been submitted, your

student will receive direct admission offers in September of their senior year of high school through email and their Common App account. Your student will need to create a Common App account to review and accept their direct admission offers.

Even if your student is still considering multiple pathways, completing the opt-in form ensures that college remains an accessible option without adding stress or cost. Direct admission keeps doors open as your student finalizes their plans for life after graduation.

Have questions? For more information, contact your student’s school counselor or visit www.OneClickAdmit.org.

Sincerely,

Dr. Tony Sanders
