Help Us in our Fight Against COVID-19

November 12, 2020

To our Wolf Pack Team and Families,

As we all have seen and heard, the number of COVID-19 cases in our county and region are dramatically rising.  These numbers can affect the ability for our students to remain in their seats for school instruction.  We know that remote learning is difficult for all parties: students, parents, and teachers.  That is why we are calling on our Wolf Pack Community to do their part.

The Wolf Pack Team at school is doing an amazing job following the Three C’s to slow the spread of COVID-19: COVER (wear your mask), CLEAN (hand washing, sanitizing), and limiting CONTACT (physical distancing).  It isn’t our normal, but we are doing it because we want to see our students and they want to see their friends and teachers.  This is the best way for students to learn and grow.

We need our Wolf Pack Families to help out, too.  Provide face coverings appropriate for your child that are changed or cleaned on a routine basis.  If you cannot provide a face covering, we can provide disposable ones for your student.  Encourage their use as a positive thing to help keep us safe and in school.  Do not send your student to school if they are having any symptoms related to COVID-19.  The Illinois State Board of Education, ISBE, provides the school with a list of symptoms and a decision tree that gives direct instructions for what to do with students and/or staff that have ANY symptom(s) of COVID-19 (listed below).  With only one symptom, staff and students, along with their siblings are to be sent home until cleared by a physician to return to school.  We know this may be inconvenient, but it is a requirement from the state and is strictly focused on keeping all students and staff safe while in our care.  Please understand that we are only following guidelines given to us.  Give us grace as we follow these and the many other guidelines we have been provided.

We are all here for the same reason.  We want to do the best to give our students the best education possible, in the best possible setting.  That setting is inside the school, with their teachers and friends.  We know you have that same goal.  Please do your part to help out as we walk this time of change.
