Temporary SNAP benefits available for all Pleasant Hill students

March 23, 2021

The Illinois Department of Human Services is offering Pandemic EBT (P-EBT), a temporary food benefit program, during the COVID-19 pandemic that provides benefits to all eligible children without needing to apply. P-EBT provides a card with your child's name on it if the following criteria have been met:

Your School:

  • Must operate the National School Lunch Program; AND,
  • Must have been closed or operating remote learning for at least 5 consecutive days at some point during the 2020-2021 School Year.

Pleasant Hill CUSD #3 operates under the National School Lunch Program and was closed in February for 5 consecutive days, so families who are both eligible and NOT eligible for SNAP benefits can expect to receive a card in the mail with their child(s) name on it. The cards are mailed in unmarked white envelopes, so be on the look out! P-EBT provides $6.82 for meals students did not receive due to school being closed for remote learning or other approved reason.
