Pleasant Hill Elementary STEM Night Sparks Curiosity and Creativity

February 06, 2026

Pleasant Hill Elementary School was buzzing with excitement as students and families came together for a hands-on STEM Night filled with exploration, creativity, and problem-solving. Throughout the evening, students rotated through a variety of interactive stations that encouraged them to design, build, test, and think critically—all while having fun.

From constructing structures with cups and cardboard to experimenting with tools, textures, and water-based materials, students engaged in activities that strengthened fine motor skills, spatial reasoning, and collaboration. Families watched as students persisted through challenges, adjusted their designs, and proudly shared their creations. The room was filled with curiosity, teamwork, and plenty of smiles.

STEM—Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics—plays an important role in helping students develop skills they will use throughout their lives. STEM learning encourages critical thinking, creativity, communication, and perseverance. By engaging in hands-on experiences at a young age, students learn that making mistakes is part of learning and that problem-solving can be both challenging and rewarding.

Events like STEM Night highlight how learning extends beyond the classroom and how families and schools can work together to support student growth. Pleasant Hill Elementary is proud to provide opportunities that inspire curiosity, build confidence, and foster a love of learning that will serve students well into the future.

We look forward to welcoming families back for our next Family Night on March 5, which will be Family Reading Night. We hope to see our students and families there for another evening of learning and connection!
