The reservations are flying in as the Wolf At Heart Homecoming committee continues to plan for Pleasant Hill High School’s biggest homecoming event ever. Currently, the reservation totals over 350 dinner guest as more reservations continue to roll in daily. The deadline to reserve dinner spots is Wednesday, Oct. 1. Reservations need to be mailed to Kelly Campbell at 112 Randall Drive, Pleasant Hill, IL. 62366. Do not mail reservations to the school or any other committee member. The cost for meal and dance is $10 each. The meal includes the following: Fried chicken, ham, potatoes, vegetable, dessert and tea and will be served in the large gymnasium at the high school. All guests who have purchased tickets may pick them up at the door prior to meal time. Meal time slots are 6 p.m., 7 p.m., 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. High school students may sign up for a 5 p.m. timeslot. Alumni are invited to socialize and view the memorabilia room beginning at 5 p.m. prior to and during meal time. Anyone who does not want to eat dinner but would like to come and socialize with former alumni, the cost will be $3 per person to enter the event. This cost will help the committee cover expenses of hosting this large alumni event. The committee is hoping for donations from alumni to help put in a new sound system in the gyms and on the football field.
The 2008 PHHS Homecoming King and Queen and their court will be introduced approximately 8 p.m. along with past queens. David Fuhler from WBBA Radio will be the DJ for the evenings event which will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will be a wide array of music from all the eras that are represented that evening. Cathy (Clendenny) Hart, PHHS class of 1972, “An event like this will only come around a couple times in one’s life, I want to be able to enjoy it, remember it, and participate in it with my friends and family while I am still able to do so. I can not wait, it is going to be great.”
Muddy Rivers Lodge will host another social gathering following the dinner/dance event. The social time at Muddy Rivers Lodge will be from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. and will be a casual setting for alumni to congregate, continue to reminisce about old times and enjoy the music provided by PHHS alumni Joe Jackson and friends. Alumni are to bring their own refreshments for this event, no food or drinks will be provided. Below is a list of those alumni who have responded for meal reservations as of the week of Sept. 15.
“We have numerous alumni coming back from many different states who are so excited to come home to see everyone and are thrilled to have so many great things to do for the weekend. They all are hoping to see their fellow classmates at the homecoming events. I am hoping those of us here in town remember to get signed up for this so we don’t disappoint them,” said meal chairman and PHHS alumni Kelly Campbell.
The high school students will be having their dance in the small gymnasium from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. There will be an official king and queen coronation in the small gym at 9 p.m.
